Strictly 2024

16/10/24

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fever has hit the nation once more!

Has watching those professional dancers made you want to put on a sequinned outfit and dancing shoes?

If you haven’t danced for a long time or have never danced before and want to start a new dance class - GO FOR IT!

Movement is medicine! Just be aware that if you start dancing or another form of exercise, with underlying joint, nerve or muscle problems you may injure yourself with the sudden change in activity and have to stop just as quickly as you started!

Here are some tips to keep your joints and muscles in top condition - whether you’re hitting the dance floor or just staying active:

1. Warm-up properly - Get those muscles and joints ready for movement. A gentle stretch and dynamic warm up goes a long way!

2. Stay hydrated - Water keeps joints and muscles functioning smoothly.

3. Strength and flexibility training - Regular exercises help maintain muscle strength and protect your joints.

4. Rest and recover - Listen to your body. Rest is just as important as exercise!Whether you’re aiming to win the glitter ball trophy or just want to stay active, good joint and muscle health is your ultimate dance partner! .

If you have had any odd niggles or aches and pains, now might be the time to sort them out - give us a call or drop us a message for more information.
