Sciatica
Although sciatica is not an actual condition or medical diagnosis, it is usually a symptom of an underlying medical condition and is excruciatingly painful. Although the pain may be felt differently by different sufferers, it most commonly starts in the lower back and travels to the thigh, and can sometimes travel further down the leg to the foot and the toes. It is not only felt as a pain, but may also demonstrate as pins and needles or numbness.
Sciatica may begin after an injury, during pregnancy or sometimes on its own with no obvious cause. There are various causes of sciatica from a trapped nerve to a disc herniation.
