Shoulder & Rotator Cuff Injuries
The shoulder joint is in fact a shallow ball and socket. This gives the shoulder incredible mobility but unfortunately this comes at the expense of stability meaning it relies heavily on muscular support. A small injury in one of these tendons or muscles can very easily progress to other muscle areas as the body tries to compensate for the injury.
A common symptom of a rotator cuff injury is the inability to lift the arm out to the side, pain when sleeping on that side and sometimes the pain may radiate down the arm towards the elbow or hand. This makes everyday tasks painful such as lifting an object, reaching up and even putting on clothing.
After booking an appointment with one of our chiropractors, we can examine you and look carefully at your case history to see where the issue may have arisen. From that we can look at different methods of treating your shoulder pain and recommend ongoing exercises to help prevent reoccurrences of the injury.
